Senior Management Restructure

Farrell Transport Ltd are installing a new senior management team to direct the future growth and development of the business.

During a very difficult number of years in the haulage sector, Farrell Transport have established themselves as one of the most dependable and stable operators in the Nottinghamshire area.

Andrew Spencer, Chris Goodyear, and Matthew Cramp will form the new team and collectively be tasked with managing the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of the business.  Together, they bring almost fifty years of experience within Farrell Transport and the haulage sector.

Andrew Spencer is a highly respected executive in the pallet network sector.  For over twenty years he has held senior positions; originally as MD of UPN and most recently as Network Development Director at Pallet-Track.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at Farrell Transport.” said Andrew, who already knew the business well through Pallet-Track.  “I have known the company since 2001 when they first entered the pallet network industry. They have always been a highly professional family run business with an excellent pedigree in the Nottingham area. Having worked closely with them in the network industry I am excited to now lend my support to the new management structure to help further enhance our overall service portfolio”

Chris Goodyear, who is a second generation employee in Farrell Transport, added: “I’m extremely grateful that the Directors have seen the potential in myself and provided me with this opportunity, along with Matthew and Andy, to further push Farrell Transport on.  I can’t wait to start expanding on the great foundations that we have, and to keep the family business approach that our Staff and Customers value so much”.

Chris has been with the business since 2010.  He is one of the CPC holders, oversees the traffic team, and regularly reports to the directors on the logistics operation.

Matthew Cramp has been with Farrell Transport since 2014.  After spending more than 25 years in the banking sector, Matthew made the unusual step into haulage as a HGV driver.

“This is a great move by the Directors to grow the business” said Matthew, who currently works with the directors on H&S, HR, and site/asset management. “I am excited to be taking on this new role and looking forward to building on the excellent platform Bob and Guy have established.”

Robert Farrell, who founded the business almost 25 years ago, commented: “I’ve known Andy since the early days at UPN, and have worked closely with Chris and Matthew over the last ten years.”

“Collectively this team has a wealth of appropriate knowledge and experience of our identity, and our business sector.  Their close connections with our staff, customers and suppliers, along with their new ideas and fresh approaches will enable us to take the next positive step in developing Farrell Transport”

Guy Sandford, a co-owner of Farrell Transport, added: “Knowing that Farrell Transport is here today, tomorrow, and for the foreseeable future, is the primary driver of everything we do.  It’s what has enabled the business to navigate through the storms of recent times and remain a reliable employer and service provider to all our staff & customers.  All the senior managers are well-known to me personally and professionally, and I’m incredibly excited to see them build on these foundations for the future.”
